Treats or Tricks
By Mary L. Bushong

Alissa and her younger brother David barged through the front door of their house and stampeded to the back bedroom where Mom was getting Josh up from his nap.

"Mom!" the brother and sister chorused together.

"We're in here!" Mom called as she cuddled a sleepy baby against her shoulder. She looked up at the breathless girl and boy who bounded into the doorway.

"We have decided what we want to dress up as for Halloween," said Alissa. "I am going as an Indian girl and David is..."

"I'm going as a ghost!" broke in David, as he glared at his sister.

"Those sound like good choices," said Mom. "I know what Josh is going as, too. He's going as a pumpkin!"

     Alissa and David laughed.

"We will be a very funny looking group!" said Alissa.

"Why do we dress up for Halloween?" asked David.
