2 The day is finally here! Today we will join the other families in our community to thank our Indian friends for their help for the wonderful harvest we have had this year. It has been a very hard year for everyone; there has not been enough food and there has been much sickness. Now, though, it seems like we will make it. Squanto taught our men how to plant and take care of the crops here in this new land. It is very different from the gardens at home.
3 I wonder if Neyani will be here. She is my best friend and I am very thankful I met her. The children in our community are either old enough to work in the fields or just babies. There wasn't really anyone my own age to talk to so I spent a lot of time alone.
