How Do I Make a Great Decision?

1     Maria was the new kid on the block. She had just entered this high school and was trying to make some friends. She was excited when a popular girl named Susie invited her to go to the mall. The catch was Susie was skipping class to go. What should Maria do?
 
2     Jeffrey was hanging out with his buddies on a Friday night. He was having a great time until one of his friend's older brothers brought some beer over. Jeffrey is only 17. What should Jeffrey do?
 
3     Devon went to the movies with a new group of kids from school. After the movie, the kids started pressuring him to smoke cigarettes with them. What should Devon do?
 
4     Karen was so hungry! She stopped for a quick bite to eat for lunch. She's been trying to eat nutritious meals, but now she was very tempted. She really wanted the cheeseburger, but there was a salad available as well. What should Karen do?
 
5     You make decisions like these all the time. Some of them are small and some of them are big. Some of them are easy and some of them are more difficult. All decisions have consequences, or results. Consequences can be positive or negative so it is important to think your decisions through. Choosing not to smoke a cigarette can lead to a positive consequence - healthy lungs. Choosing to continually eat the fries instead of the salads can lead to weight gain and heart disease.
