Carl's Chicken Pox
By Jennifer Kenny

Carl was home because he was sick. He had a runny nose. He also had a small cough.

Carl watched some TV. He drew a picture. He took a nap. He went to bed early that night.

The next day, Carl stayed home again. He did all the same things.

The next morning was strange. Carl was still home sick. He still had a runny nose. He still had a small cough. But now he also had a rash.

He had a rash on his chest. He also had a rash on his face.

     "Mommy!" Carl yelled.

"Yes," said his mom. "What's up?"

"I have a rash," Carl said.

Carl's mother came to look at him. She looked at the rash. "Uh-oh," she said.
