Dana was trying to color in her book. She was getting upset. She had a bump on her finger. She felt it each time she held her crayon.
"Mommy!" Dana called again.
"What, honey?" Mom said.
"Look at this," Dana said. She held out her finger for her mom to see.
"You have a wart," Mom said.
"A wart?" Dana asked. "I didn't kiss a frog."
Mom laughed. "I know, Dana," she said. "That's an old story. You can't get warts that way."
"What is a wart?" Dana asked.
"A wart is something on the skin. It's hard. It is bumpy," Mom said.
"Do they all look the same?" Dana asked.
"No," Mom said. "There are many sizes. There are many colors. There are many shapes."
"Are they always on your fingers?" Dana asked.
"No," Mom said. "They can be all over the body. Most of the time you find them on hands, feet, or faces. They can't hurt you."
"Why don't you have a wart?" Dana asked.
