Occupational Therapists
By Jennifer Kenny

1     Jackie was a business woman who suffered from a stroke. She suffered from weakness on the right side of her body as a result of the stroke. As she began to recover from the tragedy, she wanted to return to work. She was having trouble grooming herself because of the weakness. Who helped her regain some strength and relearn these tasks? An occupational therapist did.

2     Timothy was only three pounds at birth. He worked with an occupational therapist as an infant to make sure he was getting enough nourishment. When he was a toddler, he worked with an occupational therapist at a special preschool to help him continue to develop his eating and playing skills.

3     Frank is a senior citizen who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. As the disease progresses, he is losing his fine motor skills. An occupational therapist is working with his wife to compensate for these losses and help him to participate in his home life for as long as possible.
