Pete Is Not a Bed Wetter Anymore
By Jennifer Kenny

Sam and Pete were cousins. They loved going to each others' homes to play. They played outside and inside. They played baseball, traded cards, and enjoyed video games together. There was just one problem. Sam wanted Pete to stay overnight and Pete refused each time he was invited. He would never sleepover.

"Pete," Sam said. "I don't understand. We'll play, watch movies, and stay up late. It will be great."

     "No," Pete said.

"Please," Sam begged. "It will be fun."

"No thanks," Pete answered. "I don't want to stay over."

"Come on," Sam said. "Don't you like to play with me anymore?"

"Of course I do," Pete said. "I'll even come back tomorrow."

"So why not stay tonight?" Sam asked.

"I just don't want to," Pete said.

"Are you afraid of the dark?" Sam asked.

     "No," Pete said.
