Osgood-Schlatter Disease

1     Scott is an avid thirteen year old basketball player. He plays competitively in a league and leisurely every free moment he gets. Now Scott is experiencing severe pain beneath his knee joint.
 
2     Tina is a phenomenal twelve year old volleyball player. She wants to become the captain of the volleyball team. Things were going well until Tina felt a horrible aching pain, tenderness, and swelling in her knee each time she played.
 
3     What do Scott and Tina have in common? While they play different sports, they both play hard and competitively. They are both experiencing similar kinds of knee pain, too. Eventually, they will both be diagnosed with the same condition - Osgood-Schlatter disease.
