1 It is the fifth day of Kwanzaa [KWAHN-zuh]. Today I ask myself what I want to be when I grow up. I think about the things I like to do. I may get a job doing one of them some day!
2 I ask Mama what I should be when I grow up. She says, "You can be anything you want to be." She pats me on the head. Then she sets the table for supper.
3 I see the candles on the table. Today we will light the fifth candle. It is green. We will also light two red ones, the black one, and the green one that we lit on the third day. I like to see the wax drip. I cannot wait for the seventh day! On that day we will light all seven candles! We will get gifts! There will be a party!
4 I skip to my room. My face looks back from my wall mirror. What do I like to do? What will I be?
