Amy Learns About Attitude on an Airplane
By Beth A. Beutler

The wide silver bird pulled up to airport ramp as Amy watched out the window. "Travel Air" was painted on the airplane. Amy was nervous but excited. This was to be her first trip on an airplane.

Amy clung to her carry on bag. She stayed near her mother. Soon, she heard the airline employee announce, "We are now ready to board rows J through Z."

"What row are we, Mom?" Amy asked.

"We are Row C, so we'll have to wait just a little longer."

"Why can't we just get on now?" Amy was sometimes impatient. She stomped her foot.

"Amy, settle down," her mom said. "We have to follow the rules."

Within a few minutes, the employee called their row. Amy and her mom got in line behind everyone else. The line moved slowly while they checked everyone in.

"Can't they move faster?" Amy complained.

"Amy!" her mom replied. "They have to check everyone carefully for safety reasons. Be patient."
