Last Minute Panic
By Phyllis Naegeli

Juan sat down next to Micah on the front porch of Micah's house. "What's wrong with you?"

     "Nothing!" Micah snapped.

"Hey, sorry," said Juan, rising up from his seat. "If you don't want to hang out, I'll just leave."

"No, don't leave," said Micah. "I'm just a little stressed. I didn't mean to snap at you."

Juan sat back down and looked at Micah. "Stressed about what?"

"The science report that's due tomorrow," said Micah with a long face. "I haven't even started writing it."

"Oh," said Juan with a grimace. "That's not good. What are you going to do?"

"I don't know," said Micah. "I have some research, but I just can't seem to put it all together."

"I finished mine days ago," said Juan. "It wasn't that hard."

Micah shot Juan a look. "You're no help."
