Simba and the Mouse
By Joyce Furstenau

"Eeeeeek!" screamed Melissa.  "A mouse in the house! Eeeeek!"

"Where?" answered Matt calmly.  "Where is the mouse?"

"Over there!" said Melissa in a trembling voice.  "It went behind the TV next to the fireplace! Do something, quick!"

Matt walked over to the cold fireplace and looked behind the television.  He could not see a mouse.  He looked all around the fireplace. He could not see anything.

"I can't see it now," he said calmly.  "It must have gone into the wall."

"Well, DO SOMETHING!" shouted Melissa, still shaken.  "I don't want to sleep in this house tonight knowing there is a mouse in the house!"

"All right," said Matt.  "I'll go get a mousetrap and see what we come up with in the morning, but," he said thinking out loud, "I wonder if we could bring Simba inside for a while and see if she can catch it."

Melissa thought about this for a minute and then shook her head. "No, I don't think you should bring in the cat.  She is not used to being inside the house and she could get scared and hide somewhere.  Let's just get a mousetrap," she said.
