Jake and Jackie Learn How to Tie a Tie
By Beth Beutler

"Ugh. I have to wear a tie on Saturday!" Jake said to Jackie. "I never wear ties!"

"Why do you have to wear one Saturday?" Jackie asked as she looked up from the doodling she was doing in the sandbox with a stick that had fallen from a tree.

"My cousin is getting married. Mom says the wedding is very formal so I have to wear a suit and tie."

Jackie grinned. "I'm sure you will look very nice," she said.

Jake made a face. "I wish I could just wear one of those clip-on ties, but Mom bought me a special one. So, I'll actually have to tie it. Where will I learn to do that?"

"Doesn't your dad know how to tie a tie?" Jackie asked.

     "I guess so."

     "Let's go ask him."
