Advertising Tricks

1     "Do my teeth look yellow?" Lisa asked her boyfriend John. "Maybe I should buy this new toothpaste. Look at this ad I found."
 
2     "I think your teeth look just fine," John told her.
 
3     "But look at this picture of this super model. Look, her teeth look yellow in the before picture. Then see how white they are in the after picture. I want my teeth to look like that," Lisa said.
 
4     "You can't believe every claim you see in an ad." John said. "They use tricks to get you to buy their products. Magazines, radio, and TV have lots of ads. You have to be careful when you see or hear them. They trap you into spending a lot of money you don't really need to spend."
