¹     Mikey Miles was going to be five on Friday. Mikey was having a party.
 
²     Mikey's dad said, "What would you like for your birthday, Mikey?"
 
³     "A horse," cried Mikey. "I would like a horse for my birthday!"
 
⁴     Mikey's dad shook his head. "Mikey, we do not have a place to keep a horse.
 
⁵     We live in the city. But would you like to ride a horse for your birthday?"
 
⁶     "Yes, yes," said Mikey. "I would like to ride a horse for my birthday."
 
⁷     On Friday, Mr. Miles took Mikey and his friends to the stable in the country.
 
⁸     Mr. Price was the owner of the stable. He had many nice horses. They were all standing in a line. There was a white one and a light brown one. There was a small one and a tall one. There were many sizes of horses. They were all waiting for a rider.
 
⁹     Mikey's friends were excited. "We want to ride! " they shouted, "We want to ride!"
