Mikey's Wild Ride
By Joyce Furstenau

Mikey Miles was going to be five on Friday. Mikey was having a party.

Mikey's dad said, "What would you like for your birthday, Mikey?"

"A horse," cried Mikey. "I would like a horse for my birthday!"

Mikey's dad shook his head. "Mikey, we do not have a place to keep a horse.

We live in the city. But would you like to ride a horse for your birthday?"

"Yes, yes," said Mikey. "I would like to ride a horse for my birthday."

On Friday, Mr. Miles took Mikey and his friends to the stable in the country.

Mr. Price was the owner of the stable. He had many nice horses. They were all standing in a line. There was a white one and a light brown one. There was a small one and a tall one. There were many sizes of horses. They were all waiting for a rider.

Mikey's friends were excited. "We want to ride! " they shouted, "We want to ride!"
