Keeping Your Job
By Patti Hutchison

1     People say, "Attitude is everything." This is especially true if you want to keep your job. Employers want workers who are responsible and have a positive attitude. Here are some tips to help you keep the job you like.

2     Be a responsible worker. Always get to work on time. Do not waste company time or money. Continue to try to find better ways to do your job.

3     Sometimes you might be asked to do something that is not part of your job. Do it anyway, the very best you can. Listen to your boss and follow directions. If you make a mistake, take responsibility for it. Do not make excuses or blame others.

4     Never show a negative side. Always be positive toward your fellow workers, your boss, and your company. Do not gossip. Try to get along with everyone. If you disagree with someone, try to settle it peacefully.

5     Be a good listener. This will help you to communicate with others. You must be a team player to do your best at work. It is easier to get along with someone if you listen and try to understand his or her point of view. Show respect to your fellow workers and supervisors.
