Patty the Pizza Princess
By Joyce Furstenau

1     Patty Powell was dressed like a pretty princess for her birthday party. Patty wanted her tenth birthday to be different. Patty liked pizza, so Patty wanted to have a pizza party for her birthday. She invited six of her best friends to her party.

2     Patty's mother had the playroom decorated like a pizzeria. A pizzeria is a restaurant that serves pizza. Because the Italian immigrants brought recipes for pizza to the United States, Patty's mother put up Italian flags in the playroom. There were red, green, and white balloons and streamers strung across the room. Patty's playroom looked like a party pizzeria.

3     Three tables were set up in the playroom. One table had all the ingredients and supplies for making pizza dough. The second table had eight different kinds of toppings to use for the pizzas. The third table was full of art supplies. Patty and her parents had planned a great party.
