Jake and Jackie Learn How to Alphabetize
By Beth Beutler

"What are you doing, Mom?" Jake asked as he poured himself a glass of milk.

"I am trying to reorganize my home office. First I have to sort through all these piles of paper. I need to put them into alphabetical order."

"Can I help you with that?" Jake asked, just before hearing a knock at the back door. It was Jackie, who was probably coming over to hang out.

"Hi, Jackie," Jake's mom said. "Come on in."

Jackie noticed all the papers on the table and was curious.

"I was just telling Jake that I had to sort through all these papers. They need to be put in alphabetical order. Would you two like to help?"

Jackie gulped. She had really hoped to just play outside, but maybe this could be interesting.

Jake said, "Sure!" He was always up for a challenge.

Jake's mom moved a stack of papers into the dining room. "Let me share a way that I have found helps me alphabetize quickly."
