Florist
By Kathleen W. Redman

1     Are you artistic? Do you have a passion for flowers and other plants? Do you enjoy working with others? Can you work under pressure? These are all requirements for being a successful florist or floral designer.

2     Florists use live, dried, or silk flowers and other greenery. They arrange them into displays of many sizes and shapes. Often florists use other things in their arrangements. They may use ribbon, balloons, candles, toys, and many other things with the flowers and greenery.

3     Most florists work in small shops that do custom orders. A florist may make a corsage for a prom, a bouquet for a wedding, and a wreath for a funeral all in the same day! Some shops also provide flowers for weddings, dinners, or design shows.
