1     A lot of people have heard about Tiger Woods. But before Tiger started to play, there was Nancy Lopez. She started playing golf when she was very young.
 
2     Nancy Lopez is a Mexican-American. She was born in California. When she was little, her father told her that she should play golf. She got her first set of golf clubs when she was eight. Nancy fell in love with the game.
 
3     Her dad was proud of how good his daughter was. He dug a hole in the backyard and filled it with sand. Nancy would practice hitting her ball out of the sand trap.
