Feedback on The Sioux
By Mary Lynn Bushong
What would it be like to live on the Great Plains? The sky was wide and open. There were few trees to block it. That is where the Sioux [Soo] lived.
The grasslands could feed many kinds of animals. There were deer, antelope, rabbits, and other small animals. The biggest animal of all was the bison.
The bison was a big animal. He was also fast and could kill a man. The Sioux needed his meat to live. It tasted good. It could also feed many people.
Before horses came, it was hard to hunt bison. Sometimes, the people would try to sneak up on a herd. Then they would shoot. Other times they would try to run the bison off of a cliff.Paragraphs 5 to 15:
