Snail and Snake
By Brenda B. Covert

This is a silly story about
Sam Snail and Sara Snake,
who met at a sand box
on a sunny day.

Sam Snail sat by the sand.
He seemed sad. He said,
"This sand is so dry.
If I slide on it, I may die!"

Sara slid out of the grass.
She slid onto the sand.
"This is the best sand
for sliding," she hissed.
