Timmy Turtle
By Brenda B. and Jasmine M. Covert

Timmy Turtle was just three years old. His little sister was only two. Her name was Barbecue. Is that a funny name, or what? What were her parents thinking?

Anyway, Timmy and Barbecue went out to eat with their parents. They went at a fast trot because they were starving! The turtles liked to eat things like lettuce, carrots, and pickles. Timmy liked tomatoes best of all.

To get to the food, the turtles had to cross the street. Timmy and Barbecue went first. Then their parents tried to cross. They did not trot fast. A big truck hit them!
