The Goat Girl
By Brenda B. Covert

A dear little goat girl
had two little black and white kids.
They were very hungry.
She gave them grapes, gravy,
and gobs of green goo.
When they ran away,
she did not know what to do!

"Look at me!" said Gina Goat.
She jumped a big gate.
Gary Goat jumped a bigger gate.
Ginger the Goat Girl jumped
the biggest gate, but the little goats
got away. Go, kids, go!
Go, Ginger, go!

Ginger looked under a haystack.
No goats hid there.
She looked in the dog house.
No little goat eyes peeped back at her.
She looked inside the big wagon.
No Gina or Gary lay sleeping there.
Where did those kids go?
