Mrs. Kim stood at the front of the room. She looked at her class.
"Good morning, boys and girls," she said. "How do you all feel today?"
"Fine," said some students.
"Great," said other students.
"Not so hot," came a voice from the back.
"Well, I hope you feel well enough for a fight," said Mrs. Kim.
"A fight?" said Lucy in the front row. "My mom told me never to fight."
"Oh, boy," followed Jake, "who do I get to hit?"
"You won't need to hit anyone," answered Mrs. Kim. "Fighting doesn't always call for hitting. We are going to fight to keep our animals."
"My dad says I can't have any animals," said Maddie. "I have allergies."
"The animals we want to save," continued Mrs. Kim, "belong to everyone. They are animals in danger."
"What is going to happen to these animals?" asked Matt.
