¹     Mrs. Kim stood at the front of the room. She looked at her class.
 
²     "Good morning, boys and girls," she said. "How do you all feel today?"
 
³     "Fine," said some students.
 
⁴     "Great," said other students.
 
⁵     "Not so hot," came a voice from the back.
 
⁶     "Well, I hope you feel well enough for a fight," said Mrs. Kim.
 
⁷     "A fight?" said Lucy in the front row. "My mom told me never to fight."
 
⁸     "Oh, boy," followed Jake, "who do I get to hit?"
 
⁹     "You won't need to hit anyone," answered Mrs. Kim. "Fighting doesn't always call for hitting. We are going to fight to keep our animals."
 
¹⁰     "My dad says I can't have any animals," said Maddie. "I have allergies."
 
¹¹     "The animals we want to save," continued Mrs. Kim, "belong to everyone. They are animals in danger."
 
¹²     "What is going to happen to these animals?" asked Matt.
