Wendy's World- Everyday Heroes
By Jane Runyon

"Where are you going?" Wendy called to Tim and Tess.

"We have to go to the library," answered Tess. "Do you want to go along?"

"Sure," said Wendy, "let me tell my mom where I am going first."

When Wendy returned, she could see that Tim and Tess were having a very serious conversation. "What's up?" she asked.

"We have to write a biography," answered Tim. "It has to be about a hero."

"We're trying to decide what hero we want to write about," added Tess.

"We know that a biography tells the story of someone's life," said Tim. "We figure we can find that information in a library."

"I'd rather be baking cookies with my mom than going to the library," said Tess.

"Well, maybe you can," said Wendy. "What do you think a hero is?"
