Todos los granos explotan

1     Un día mi mamá dijo que ibamos a ir al cine. Yo estaba muy entusiasmado. Fuimos hasta el cine en el automóvil. Mi mamá compró los billetes y entramos. Olí algo. Parecía mi golosina favorita. Podía oler la mantequilla caliente. Y entonces, lo vi. Eran palomitas de maíz recién hechas. Compramos un poco, que compartimos con mi mamá. Las comimos mientras mirabamos la película.
 
2     Las palomitas han existido por cientos de años. Eran importantes para los aztecas. Las usaban como alimento. Se calentaba arena sobre el fuego y los granos se removían en la arena. Cuando se calentabn, estallaban. Los aztecas las usaban como decoración. Hacían collares y adornos. Las usaban para hacer tocados.
 
3     Los indios tenían una historia sobre las palomitas de maíz. Decían que dentro del grano de maíz vivían espíritus silenciosos. Cuando el grano se calentaba, los espíritus se enojaban y salían disparados de sus hogares. Se iban al aire convertidos en vapor.
