Los Anfibios

1     Los anfibios son animales de sangre fría con piel húmeda. Las ranas y los sapos son anfibios.
 
2     Los anfibios no tienen pelo, plumas, ni garras. La palabra "anfibio" viene del griego y significa "viviendo una doble vida." Es decir, los anfibios tienen dos etapas en su vida. La mayoría de los anfibios inician su vida en el agua. Cuando las crías se desarrollan, pueden vivir tanto en el agua como en la tierra.
 
3     Los anfibios pueden dividirse en tres grupos -las ranas y los sapos, las salamandras y los tritones, y las cecilias. Los científicos han descubierto más de 4,000 especies de anfibios. Cerca de 3,500 especies de anfibios son ranas y sapos.
