¿Es una Mariposa o una Polilla?

1     ¿Puedes distinguir entre una mariposa y una polilla? A primera vista, las dos especies de insectos tienen estructuras corporales idénticas - ambas tienen un par de antenas, dos pares de alas, y tres pares de patas. Hasta su dieta es la misma. A ambas les encanta beber líquidos azucarados (como el néctar) a través de un tubo alimentador largo y parecido a un popote llamado probóscide. Cuando una mariposa o una polilla no está comiendo, enrosca su probóscide y la guarda cuidadosamente bajo su cabeza.
 
2     Sin embargo, aparte de las similitudes, existen algunas diferencias sutiles entre las dos especies de insectos alados.
 
3     * Una mariposa tiene generalmente colores más brillantes que una polilla.
