1     Wendy, Tess y Tim estaban jugando a patear la pelota. Era una noche tibia de verano. "Seguro me gusta jugar afuera," dijo Tess. "Todavía tenemos suficiente luz para ver la pelota."
 
2     "Y no tenemos que quedarnos adentro para mantenernos tibios," agregó Tim.
 
3     "Me gusta, también," dijo Wendy. "En el invierno oscurece mucho más temprano."
 
4     "No sé cómo sucede," dijo Tess. "Sólo estoy contenta de que tenemos más luz solar cuando está cálido."
 
5     "Acabo de conseguir en la biblioteca un libro sobre el día y la noche," dijo Wendy. "En el encontré mucha información interesante."
 
6     "¿Cómo qué?" preguntó Tim.
 
7     "El libro empezó contando un mito acerca del sol," replicó Wendy.
 
8     "¿Qué es un mito?" preguntó Tess.
 
9     "Un mito es una historia acerca de dioses y diosas," contestó Wendy. "La gente acostumbraba inventar historias para explicar por qué las cosas sucedían en la naturaleza. Ellos decían que los dioses y las diosas eran responsables."
