¡Tiro al plato!

1     La gente ha usado armas en muchas formas. Las armas ayudaron a la gente a cazar para comer. También se usaron en guerras. Algunas personas usan armas para sus deportes. Uno de esos deportes es el tiro al plato.
 
2     ¿Cómo empezó el tiro al plato? Se le ocurrió a un hombre a quien le gustaba cazar pájaros. Charles Davies disfutaba de la caza de urogallos. Le gustaba practicar tiro con su arma. Alrededor de 1915, inventó un juego que lo ayudaba a practicar.
 
3     El juego del Sr. Davies se llamó "tiro alrededor del reloj". Así es cómo se jugaba: El Sr. Davies hizo un círculo grande, parecido a la esfera de un reloj. Marcó puntos alrededor del borde en donde están los números en la esfera de un reloj. Luego, colocó un lanzaplatos. El artefacto disparaba blancos al aire. El Sr. Davies se paraba en las marcas alrededor del círculo y disparaba a los blancos. ¡Él y sus amigos se divertían mucho!
