1     "Guarda! C'è un coniglio!" Melody disse a Jessica.
 
2     "Dove?" chiese Jessica.
 
3     "Lassù in cielo," disse Melody.
 
4     Melody e Jessica erano stese sull'erba fresca. Era appena prima di Pasqua. La Primavera era arrivata. Gli uccellini cinguettavano. I fiori stavano sbocciando intorno, e l'erba solleticava i loro piedi nudi. Tuttavia, stavano prestando più attenzione al cielo. Osservavano le nuvole e facevano finta che fossero delle figure.
 
5     "Quella laggiù assomiglia a Marvin," Jessica rise scioccamente. Marvin era un vicino di casa. In un certo modo piaceva a Jessica-almeno Melody la pensava così. Jessica di sicuro parlava molto di Marvin.
 
6     "Ce n'è una che assomiglia ad un cavallo," disse Melody. Non voleva sentire nient'altro riguardo a Marvin. In quel momento preferiva gli animali ai ragazzi.
 
7     "E' divertente guardare il cielo," disse Jessica. "C'è sempre qualcosa di diverso da vedere. Di notte ci sono tutte le stelle. Mi piacciono le costellazioni".
 
8     "Che cos'è una costellazione?" chiese Melody.
 
9     "E' quando un gruppo di stelle forma una sagoma che può essere vista come una figura. Ce n'è una chiamata il ‘Grande Carro'. Forma la figura di un carretto".
 
10     "Forte," replicò Melody.
 
11     "Posso dirti che tempo farà guardando il cielo," continuò Jessica.
 
12     "Puoi?"
 
13     "Certo. Se vedo delle nuvole, in particolare alcune veramente scure, so che probabilmente pioverà. Se è sereno, mi aspetto una giornata soleggiata. Non è così difficile, sul serio".
 
14     "Di sicuro sei interessata al cielo," commentò Melody. "Non sapevo tu guardassi verso l'alto per così tanto tempo!"
