Canadian National Exhibition
By Lisa Lucchese

1     Fairs are part of Ontario's past. Years ago, cities took turns hosting a fair. In 1879, it was Toronto's chance. It was such fun that Toronto chose to have a fair every year. This fair was named the Canadian National Exhibition or CNE.

2     The CNE is a special part of Toronto. It is a fun event. There is a lot to do and see. There are shows, animals, games, rides, and fireworks. Young and old can join in the fun. There is something for everyone.

3     Many of the buildings at the CNE are one hundred years old. You can taste cooking from around the world in the Food Building. You can see baby cows, horses, and pigs in the Agricultural Building. You can play hockey in the Sports Building. There is always something fun to try.
