¹     "Uncle Bart," called José, "where are you?"
 
²     "I am here in the work room," yelled Uncle Bart. "Come and see what I am working on."
 
³     José clomped down the stairs into the basement. The front of the house opened onto a hill top. The basement opened onto the backyard. It had big glass doors. It was very bright.
 
⁴     Uncle Bart was working at a scroll saw. It could cut shapes from wood. Uncle Bart was cutting a shape.
 
⁵     José knew not to get close. A moment later, Uncle Bart held up the wood he was cutting.
 
⁶     "What does this shape look like, José?" he asked.
 
⁷     "It looks like a dog," said José.
 
⁸     Uncle Bart nodded.
 
⁹     "Do you know what kind of dog?"
 
¹⁰     José cocked his head and thought.
 
¹¹     "It looks like a German shepherd dog," he said.
 
¹²     Uncle Bart nodded. "That is correct. I have more over here. What do they look like?"
 
¹³     José looked at the cut out shapes. He stood them up in a row.
 
¹⁴     "This one looks like a doberman," he said. "Is this a labrador?"
