¹     "I won!" cried Lenny. "Hooray! Hooray! I made it to level two!
 
²     I gathered all the jewels I need. Only four more levels to go through!"
 
³     Lenny was completely focused on the joystick in his hand.
 
⁴     He was up, then down, then up again. He had the game in his command.
 
⁵     He yelled at it. He screamed at it. He mumbled to himself.
 
⁶     "If you don't stop making so much noise," said Mom, "I'll put that thing back on the shelf!"
 
⁷     Lenny didn't hear his mom. He was starting level two.
 
⁸     His would surely find the secret. He was sure he could get through.
 
⁹     He mumbled, "Get ‘em! There it is!" and "Let's go! Now you're mine!"
 
¹⁰     He didn't hear the dog scratching. He didn't hear her whine.
 
¹¹     Before long when his mom returned, she looked beside the kitchen door.
 
¹²     The dog had made a puddle right there upon the floor.
 
¹³     "Lenny!" she said. "Didn't you hear her? The poor dog wanted out!"
