¹     "Hi, Eric. What's up?"

²     It was always the same. Suze always said the same four words when she saw him after school. Right now a little sister was all he needed. Couldn't she tell he wanted to be alone?

³     "The sky's up, Suze." Eric just wanted her to go away.

⁴     "Oh, don't be such a grouch," Suze said. "Besides, I have some good news. I was chosen for the JV cheerleading team! Isn't that great, Eric?" Suze was thirteen years old and very outgoing.
