Who Cares?, Chapter 3
By Kathleen Redman

1     The next morning, Eric didn't feel like going to school. He told his mother he was too sick to go. It was true in a way. He was sick. He was sick of school. He was sick of Keith. He was sick of Suze. He was sick of Mr. Davis. He was just sick of his life. Staying home would give him time to think. Maybe he could think what to do.

2     Mrs. Styles didn't know what to do. She had to go to work and Suze had to get to school.

3     "Eric, do you need to go to the doctor?" she asked. "Do you think you need some medicine?"

4     "No, that's okay, Mom. I'll be all right. I think I just need some rest."
