Your Skin
By Cindy Grigg

1     Feel your skin. It feels soft, but it is a tough covering for your body. Your skin is a layer of tissue that covers your body from head to toe. It protects your muscles and organs. It keeps the insides of your body from drying out. It keeps germs and dirt from getting inside your body. It helps control your body temperature.

2     Your skin can feel when it is touched. It can feel changes in temperature. It can feel pressure and pain.

3     Your skin has two main layers. The outer layer is called the epidermis. The inner layer is called the dermis. It has sweat glands, blood vessels, oil glands, hair roots, and nerves.
