An Unstable Fourth, Part 3
By Mary Lynn Bushong

1     In the early light of dawn, five figures were slowly making their way around the perimeter of the arena. Sandy, Terry, and Martin followed Mrs. Mac and a man they didn't know. Terry directed them to a place along the fence. There, in a corner between the post and the board, was a small tubular object. It had once been darkly colored but was now spray-painted white. The man carried a camera bag and a small kit. He began taking pictures and then snapped on some latex gloves.

2     Martin nudged Sandy and Terry. Then he whispered, "This is just like C.S.I."

3     The man removed the loosely held rocket and dropped it into a labeled bag. By the time they had found all the bottle rockets, an hour had passed. He immediately left to get them tested for finger prints.

4     "Mrs. Mac," asked Terry, "won't Danny and Ross know something is up when they see the rockets are gone?"
