Field Day
By KATHLEEN W. REDMAN

1     Red City held a field day at the fairgrounds yesterday. What a sight it was! The mayor gave a speech. The high school band marched through the gates. Clowns walked behind the band. They tossed candy to the children.

2     Many different kinds of games were set up. The races started first. Everyone had to run from the starting line, around the field, and back to the starting line. One of the high school students won.

3     In another part of the park, children were throwing footballs. Each one was trying to throw it just a little bit farther than the last person.
