Rachel Interviews Fred the Flea
By Kathleen W. Redman

1     "Good morning, boys and girls. I'm Rachel Scott, the host of Bugs Beyond Belief. Today's guest is, well, hard to see. He's tiny and he really doesn't stay in one place long. Since he's been here, he's been hopping around everywhere. If we can get him to sit still for a minute, you'll get to know Fred the Flea."

2     "Oh, hi, Rachel. I am so sorry, but I love jumping around. I'll sit still for a while."

3     "Thanks, Fred. If you don't mind me saying so, you're a tiny little insect. You also have an unusual shape."

4     "Yes, Rachel, we're tiny. If you see one of us, we usually look no bigger than a speck of dirt. I've got really long legs, a mouth used for biting and sucking blood, and a super-thin body."
