¹     It was raining hard. Everything was wet and muddy. People were asking if was ever going to stop raining. School classes were cancelled because of so much rain.
 
²     Timothy was happy. Today there would be no school. Maybe he could walk down his street in the rain. Maybe his mother would let him jump in some mud puddles.
 
³     "Mom," Timothy asked, "do you think I could play in the rain and mud today?" His voice was excited. Timothy wanted so much to be outside on this rainy day.
 
⁴     His mother said, "You know I will let you go outside, but you have to put on some old clothes."
