The Life Cycle of a Frog

1     Have you ever seen a baby frog? You won't find them hopping around on land. You won't see them with their mother, either. Baby frogs do not look like frogs at all. They have tails. They do not have legs. They can live only in the water. Baby frogs are called tadpoles. Tadpoles are one stage in the life cycle of a frog.
 
2     A life cycle is how a living thing develops as it grows. A frog's life cycle begins when a mother frog lays her eggs. She lays the eggs in the water. One day, the eggs hatch. Tiny tadpoles hatch from the eggs. They find food to eat. The tadpoles start growing. As they grow, the tadpoles begin to look more like frogs. They sprout tiny legs. Their bodies get bigger. Their tails get shorter. As the tadpoles grow .....
