1 Spicy gingerbread is a Christmas treat. Almost everyone likes it. One city is famous for gingerbread. It is the "gingerbread capital of the world." This city is in Germany. It is called Nuremberg. Long ago, bakers there made the gingerbread by hand. They worked hard. They had strict rules. Each baker had to have his own oven. This was called having their "own smoke."
