The Sounds, Scents, and Stories of Christmas
By Erin Horner

1     When you hear the word "Christmas," what comes to your mind? Do you think about the sounds of the season? Do you like to hum jolly and festive songs? Maybe you like the scents of Christmas. Do you enjoy the sweet aroma of a tray of freshly baked sugar cookies? What about the smell a fresh-cut evergreen tree? A tree trimmed with lights and ornaments can make your home smell and look great!

2     When some people hear the word "Christmas" they think about the gifts. Waking up on December 25 to find a stack of brightly wrapped presents from Santa can be a great way to start the day! For many Christian families, Christmas is also a time to think about a gift, but not the kind that arrives on a sleigh. During this season, they celebrate the miraculous gift of a baby. He was not wrapped in fancy ribbons and bows. Instead, he was covered in cloths and lying in a stable.
