1 Mistletoe is a funny plant. It grows on trees! Its roots go into the other tree's bark. That is how mistletoe gets nutrients. Mistletoe is a parasitic plant because of this. Mistletoe has fruit in winter. Its berries are white or red. It has green leaves all year. Mistletoe is hung in a doorway. This happens during the holidays. Two people who meet there are supposed to give each other a kiss. This might bring good luck! People aren't sure how this custom began. It may have started in Scandinavia. People thought the plant was a symbol. It meant peace. The custom may have started like this. Sometimes, enemies met under this plant. They met in the woods. .....
