1 Ding! Ding! Ding! Bells make a happy sound. Long ago, people thought that bells scared evil spirits away. Today at Christmas, bells are part of celebrations. Bells are part of Christmas carols. Jingle Bells is a favorite holiday song. This song was written in 1857. The song was first written for a Thanksgiving church service. People liked it so much they sang it again at Christmas! This popular song was even sung in space. It was part of a Christmas joke. The astronauts aboard the Gemini 6A played the joke. It was in 1965. They tricked the staff at Mission Control. .....![]() |
