1     There are two types of language: verbal and nonverbal. When you speak, you use verbal language. Verbal language is language that is spoken. Nonverbal language is language that is not spoken, but rather it is seen. There are many nonverbal ways to communicate. A few nonverbal ways to communicate include waving, smiling, and slouching. The way you use your body to communicate is called body language. When your parents ask you if you'd like to go to the park, your body language might tell them yes before you even say anything. Your parents are able to read your body language very well. You might jump up out of a chair and flash them a big smile.
