1 There are many minerals made from carbon. Two of them are graphite and diamonds. They have very different properties. A property is a trait that belongs to a specific thing. Diamonds are used for jewelry. They are very hard. They are harder than any other natural mineral. Graphite is one of the softest minerals known to man. It is used for the lead in pencils. It is a good conductor of electricity. Diamonds are insulators. This means they do not conduct electricity well. Since diamonds are so hard, they will scratch any surface .....![]() |
