Saving Money - How Do You Handle Money?

1     You want a new bike. The new bike costs sixty dollars. You do not have sixty dollars. You want to earn money to help you pay for the new bike. You can earn money by doing things around the house. This money is called an allowance. Your parents offer to give you an allowance each week. This money will help you pay for the bike. You can take out the trash. You might do the dishes. You may even fold laundry. These are all chores your parents may ask you to do. Doing these jobs correctly can help you earn your allowance. Your parents will pay you each week when your chores are done.
 
2     Think of a place where you will put your money. Some kids keep their money in a box. Some put their money in a wallet. Each week put your money into your special place. Your money adds up .....
